The 2024 edition of Venditalia proved to be an unmissable stage for the debut of FLO’s new product lines, praised for their strong innovative character, the result of continuous research into new materials. Among the new products presented were the Alpha and R-Hybrid cups and the compostable GEA Calix 2.0 capsules.

Technology, originality, training, and information: Venditalia, the most important international event in the Automatic Distribution sector, which has just concluded in Milan, recorded the participation of over 22,000 visitors, 40% of whom were international. Among the most represented countries from abroad were France, Spain, Germany, Poland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, all experiencing double-digit growth compared to the 2022 edition.

The true star of this edition was the Alpha cup, which introduces a revolutionary concept of plastic-free food packaging. Alpha products are made from vegetal fiber waterproofed with silica, a natural material free from plastic and PFAS. Due to the absence of plastic, Alpha cups are completely exempt from the plastic tax, according to the SUPD definition.

Great interest was also sparked by the brand new R-Hybrid, the first and only vending cup containing post-consumer recycled raw materials. This represents a crucial breakthrough in automatic distribution as it ensures a significant reduction in the consumption of virgin raw materials, anticipating by 6 years the achievement of the recent packaging regulation (PPWR) target, which requires a minimum of 10% recycled content in plastic containers by 2030.

The innovations offered by FLO’s lines launched at Venditalia captivated the audience as they present real solutions to the challenges posed by recent European regulations, paving the way for an emerging concept where “packaging” becomes synonymous with “sustainability.”
