Alpha is the new line of entirely made-in-Italy products made from a material of 100% natural origin and without plastic. The items in the line are made from pure cellulose coated with Qwarzo®, a revolutionary inert coating made from silica-the most naturally occurring material-that enhances the paper’s characteristics, ensuring its impermeability while maintaining its recyclability and compostability.

Thanks to Qwarzo®, the tableware in the Alpha line are the first to be made from paper whitout any plastic-based coating, thus they are totally excluded from the bans, restrictions and obligations of the single-use plastic (SUP) directive, which came into effect in 2021 and includes a ban on single-use plastic plates and cutlery and targets to reduce plastic-containing cups from the market.

Not only that, Qwarzo® is also naturally free of PFAS, the water-repellent and oleophobic molecules used in cellulose pulp products to ensure impermeability. PFAS are very resistant to degradation and therefore tend to accumulate in soil and groundwater.

Currently the line includes cups, plates, cutlery and coffee stirrers and will be produced in our Italian plants in Verona and Fontanellato, further guaranteeing high quality standards, food safety and total control of the supply chain.

Alpha products are strong and durable, suitable for use with liquids and foods, both cold and hot, and can be used to reheat dishes in both the oven and microwave. To learn more about Alpha’s technical features and line values, visit
